The Generation 6 Camaro bumpers, especially the ZL1, do a phenomenal job of moving volumes of fresh cool air across all of the vehicle’s various fluid coolers. However, all of that fresh air needs somewhere to go or else it creates lift. Building upon the aerodynamic cooling features of the Generation 6 Camaro’s front bumper, our engineers set out to create a hood that had the perfect “flow path” to allow that air somewhere to go and in doing so maximize the vehicle’s performance by minimizing heat soak and creating more down force across the front of the vehicle. Similar to the 2019 ZR1 Corvette, this hood has a large opening that allows that hot air being pushed out of the radiator to escape exactly where it naturally is trying to flow, reducing heat and lift simultaneously. Adding a raised cowl, that is open in the back, allows for even more cooling and better clearance for aftermarket setups. Finally, utilizing the styling concept of the Gen 3 IROC-Z Camaro hood louvers, we crafted louver styled heat extractors directly over the manifolds where most turbo or centrifugal blower set ups are, to dissipate as much heat as possible. Aerodynamically designed to extract heat and direct water away whether stopped at a red light or doing triple digits down the track, this hood’s style and performance are the perfect match wherever the race takes you. ROC STAR designed- Built with all Camaro owners in mind, it fits every Camaro model (including the ZL1 with minor body work such as adjusting the bump stops and adjusting the bumper height using the OEM adjustment points), using factory hardware. Hood will be shipped unpainted and must be installed by a professional body shop.
